 My Tortilla Soup

Chicken Tortilla Soup Always make a mild soup, each diner can add 'heat' to their taste with garnish. 4  cans corn ~~15.25 ounces each Not creamed corn. 2 cups shredded or diced  leftover chicken 2 cans kidney beans ~~ 15 ounce each 1 tablespoon olive oil  1 teaspoon or less chili powder (less is better for those that do not like lot of spice) 1/2 cup  diced onion 4  cups chicken broth. I can stewed tomatoes ~~14.5 ounce  or Jar Mild  Salsa~~12 or 16 ounces depending on brand. Cook onion in olive oil on medium  heat in a heavy, at least one gallon size, pan or skillet  until tender.  Add rest of ingredients  and  bring to boil  on medium heat then turn down and slow simmer for 20 minutes. Serve in bowls with Crisp  corn tortilla strips  Other Garnishes folks like. Cilantro Sliced Avocado Sliced limes Cheese, your favorite with  this. I like Cheddar others like Colby jack. Sour cream Additional 'different heat', Salsa. For each person's taste. Bread can be served with this also.

Also, someone emailed me about art work and how it can be hard when there is a  block to making anything. I figured that what I replied is  basic knowledge but not always read by artists, so I fell that I can post that  advice for any artist,  that is having a hard time working their craft. 

If for some reason you feel you have not got a bit of art in your litle finget's finger nail then the advie is also for you.

 

Here is the  reply, pretty much  word for word. 

It started   about my envelope art work

A way to draw when blanking is start on some scrap paper, a very small sheet, so you have to go to the envelope quickly. Start drawing anything.  Don't worry if it is perfect, you are just getting  juices flowing.

And then grab envelope and start drawing, make yourself draw in ink, so you cannot erase it.

If you want to time yourself, go for it, says like 10  minutes, as soon as the bell rings, drop the pen and let the envelope rest.

Then use that as  your first art project, either  keep it,  how ever you save your  art work,  you want to save, or use it for a swap, not  even ai art swap but  when you are sending a just a letter i or a tea bag or a postcard.
 

I drew a happy monster farmer the other day. in the background I needed a house and I drew it crooked, I thought I need to get that straight, then I realized a lot of art is just like that, crooked houses, farmers that are happy monsters, and so on. I still get frustrated when I try to tangle art and I mix a line where it shouldn't be. If you do not have  a boss that says what you need to draw and how to draw it, then the world of art is  endless for you.

Making yourself do better it good, but beating yourself up for minor or even major 'mistakes' in your art is not good. Sometimes those are a way our personality is screaming to get on the paper. And those are usually

Ok I think I could blab on and on. I talk more than draw.  LOL. My favorite thing to talk about is Jehovah God and all his love and the ways he shows that lobe and I know my art is because of that love, he put the  love of colors and design in us, no other creature  likes to get reds mixed with purples or lines going this way and then that way. They may make a beautiful home, but that is totally  ingrained and they have no notion about beauty.

We can see  how he  knows art and lines by the way flowers, seashells and the stars form  patterns.

 The upper one is for a swap. The lower one I  made about 18 months ago.

I  will find some person that wants it and will change its oil,so to speak,  in other words not just trash it.

New post. This is going to be a day for crochet.

Bookmarks I crocheted, most designed by me. Some just as my mind was  going, so there is no pattern. Others there is a pattern. And one or two are from patterns that are not bookmark patterns, but look good as a bookmark, so there is no patterns for those.

I hope the downloads to crop photos did OK. I uses this to do very basic photo editing.

Be careful loading it on the computer, to make sure you want the extra programs they send with it.

I crop, resize abd flip with this program. It does have a few other photo enhancers, but I rarely use those. t makes simple photos easy to get ready for the internet.
Irfanview is the title of the program and I set up a link in that title so just click on the Irfanview word. and you should be able to get to their site.

Now I get to taking the photoes and the battery is out of power, grrrr.

So I will have to share those tomorrow.

Before I leave the site today, I do want to share one photo. It is an envelope I got in the mail yesterday. Well after all it is mote than one photo.

Tangles are fun to draw. They are totally different than doodling. Tangles usually have a pattern to them that is part of the drawing, and not so much just drawing what the sub conscience wants as with doodling.   As you see tangles have sections also, doodle usually covers any part of the entire sheet of paper you are drawing on, even a phone book page.
