Wow what the last few months have brought to me.

A lot of differences and a lot of happiness.

I was blessed to be able to attend Pioneer Service School in August 2011.

That was the spiritual shot in the arm I needed.

I was able to come out of a depression I was sort of aware of and sort of not aware of.

Postcrossing is still a big part of my Internet life. I love being able to send and receive postcards from all over the world.

I have also been able to meet a lot of wonderfully kind folks over here at Swap-bot.

Swap-bot is a nifty sight where you can, once again, swap postcards with other from all over the world.

My collections are about to be huge.

I have many postcards, some sort of rare and some not so rare. I still cannot bring myself to pay over $5.00 for one card unless it is rare. In fact that amount is a card that is rare also. Usually I will not pay over $1.00, so I guess I am a low end collector.

My favorite cards are the ones made before the WWII era. Some up to the 1950's decade are nice also. I think of life and how it must have been back when the postcards were made or written.

I also wonder if the person that the card is sent to, still lives in the same place, are they still alive, or is the place they lived torn down and a 'new' joint built up. We do live in a country that tears down old and puts up new. I wish that would not be the case so often. The old style and workmanship will never be replaced in this old world.

I have also been designing crochet items. I love to make my own ideas. And then love to give them away.

Right now I need to take photos of two bookmarks I finished last week.

I do have some photos of other bookmarks I have finished a few weeks ago.

I think I can try and find them and perhaps post some of the photos on here.

Still winter, still cold

Well it got cold here. It was about the coldest I ever seen it here.

-16F and the wind chill way down there like near -50F,

Brrrr, that is spit and it freezes before it hits the sidewalk cold.

I have been looking for patterns to make for the baby.

On my quest, I have found so many wonderful designers that are so generous to let us ave the patterns at not cost, just respect the copyright.

For most of us, that is not hard, for the few that it seems they think they should get the glory or the money, it is sad.

I also saw a few years ago, two posters arguing over who designed a certain blanket first. Aha! I knew it was designed by someone else first, and it is printed in a book before the internet ever came into existence. First off, it could have been snagged from another pattern and re -sized. but nope I saw the original on a book I own.
When I find the book again, I will go to that site and put a note about it, then the argument can be settled.

Of course hundreds have taken that patterns an changed a stitch her and a color there and said they crated a new one.

Well perhaps. If this is so, since I have one with a certain number of parts, that I have never seen, then I created one also. WOW!

This is a month of working on my UFOs as well as baby things and a few things for my brand new niece wife of my old nephew. LOL he is old to me. about 22 years old now.

I also am thinking about creating some things for some other family members, but until I can get them done, I am not going to post.

I have found the Swap-bot.com site is awesome for getting nice and less easy to get postcards.

I have been not purchasing so much on Ebay also. I am kind of happy, It was going to be gettign out of hand, so now I have slowed down.

Perhaps today can be a day of looking for the things I collect and no longer have.

I never did get the things listed yet. I have had a some other things come up and oit has prevented me from doing that.

One day soon.

If I can get some housework done today, then on Monday, I can list.

Today I can send out two postcards, that I have no clue why they ever made them, they are of an ugly room. It is the ugliest postcard ever swap. I have so many of those it is a good reason to be able to share some.

One thing I hate about winter, is cold feet, it seems they stay cold, all winter.

I had a pair of wool socks I thought would be harsh to wear, but they were not, they were warm, warm and warm.

So I am on a wool sock hunt. I hate the mall, but I think I have to go to Dillards to get some.

I have a list as long as my arm of things to get finished this day. No fancy stuff here. today.

Well winter is upon us.

This past week most of the USA had very bitter cold weather and the other miseries that go along with the bitter cold.

Snow in parts, like here, we had four inches.

Other parts had the worst winter weather there is, ice storms.

I think those are the most damaging of all winter weather. Even blizzards do not do the same amount of damage.

I have been busy, when I am able to be.

Some days this back is not a nice one and it can hurt so deeply and so much, that about all I can do is to lay down and rest it all day.

Even though I am not old, I feel like her.

I have a lot of postcards I want to sell. I am a collector. Learning and more learning. Learning about the value and the best card makers.

Learning about what I like in postcards. Bridges is one of my favorite. The older the better.

This is not as old as like and the size is bigger than I like.

I do not like the modern sizes. I do like the older smaller size.

Wonderful nice crocheter blog for the pattern of the flowers above.
I also have several crochet books and craft magazines to sell.
And there is some thread for sale.

Today, besides listing we are getting some things done around here.

Like usual, it is work, work, work. LOLOL. Oh well, work is good for the inner person.

Speaking of inner person has any one heard of the term, inner adult?

I know we all have an inner child, but what about an inner adult? Where would it be?

Would it hide behind the inner child, or would the inner child hide behind the inner adult, when other inner adults and inner children come visiting?

Well there is food for thought.

Oh wait now, how come there is food for thought?

How do we think of food when pondering something? Or do we ponder when eating food?

Summer is here

Well the cold weather stepped out for a while. Yipee!

It has been a very busy summer.

First of all, I decided to make me a craft room. So I brought the library to the guest room, and the old library is not my craft room.

With some help from DD and my special niece, I got most of the things emptied out of both rooms.

The library shelves DD set up for me and her husband helped set up the books. There is some more of those to gt done, but for now, most of it is finished.

The craft room is another story..... so I won't go there.

May the 11th, marks 25 years of marriage to my husband. My first and only marriage.

What a mile stone.

Marriage is not always the easiest thing I have to deal with, but one of the best things I have.

What a life I have had and hopefully will have in the future.

And better to have soon, in the wonderful world, promised by Jehovah, when we both are perfect and will live forever.

The week starting on Monday is National Postcard Week. May 2-9 2010.

I do have some postcards I made for this week. I am willing to swap card for card. I made two different ones, so I will trade both or one.

The top one is of items I have made or photos I have taken. Both cards are copyrighted.

I have about 60 perhaps of each one that I can swap.

Of course the fellow Postcrossers may want some. But then again, if you sign up for postcrossing, you can get some very nice postcards from around the world.

In fact I got a card today from Russia today. It is an area that has the midnight sun, and the card is a photo of a bridge with the midnight sun setting.

It is the end of April and it is supposed to snow, well that is Colorado weather for you. It snowed the day of my senior prom in June in 1978, so nothing can surprise me, weather wise in Colorado.

I am, trying my hand at different crafts, and these are different than normal ones. Hopefully I can get the first of these done this evening, so I can list that on Etsy. If it does not come out that good, I will just keep it in an album of projects.

I do need to get some more items copyrighted, so that I can sell them, without someone stealing my title and name. So I cannot share that until I get that done.

I may make a book of the items I want to have copyrighted, so that I won't have to pay the fee for each item.

For anything I sell, I sell to the USA only and I will take USPS money orders only, as well as Paypal and Paypal will have limits for amounts.

If you send the USPS money order, then I can cash it when I take the package in to ship it.

The bank will not cash money orders, thus the limit to the USPS ones.

Wow, I have found so many new and exciting sites, as I want to expand my talents, not only crocheting, but embroidering more, and other needlework.

I have a project for my daughter and her work desk to get started.

Her and a co-worker are having a decorate the desk contest. She loves duckies, and I have some material with duckies, and some yellow material and a transfer pattern of a ducky.

I have in the past share some photos of some bookmarks that I have made.

Bookmarks are great, they encourage reading, and keeping a book in pristine condition, if that book should be kept that way.

They are so simple to make.

I just finished make a few more, no photos yet, perhaps later.

I have made some awesome paper bookmarks also.

This is where your imagination comes in to play.

What you will need:

1. Card stock or old manila folder in good shape.
2. A template in the size you want to make this bookmark. Usually 2 inches x 6 or 7 inches is great. The template can be made out of old cardboard, the back of a greeting card or any other semi stiff paper.

I usually have the bookmark no smaller than one inch wide(2.54 cc), and no shorter than 4 inches long. (10.16 cc)

3 Any pictures from magazines or other sources or material.
4. Glue
5. Scissors ( Child safe if doing this with a child)
6. Any decoration that you would like to add.

Button, fringe, tassel, sticker, rick rack, and ribbon can be used.
If the bookmark is going to be used by a young child, please do not add on anything they can take off and choke on. Some decorative ribbon around the edge would be great for a younger child.

Use the template to cut out the bookmark from the card stock.
Then cover one or both sides using a glue stick if using paper, or a glue gun or fabric glue if using material

This is where the fun begins. Use your imagination; you can make this out of many pictures, a few scraps of material or even both.

For you add ons you can add buttons, a fringe or a tassel to the bookmark. Just make sure these add ons do not do damage to the book, so they should be near the top or the bottom.

Of course any flat decoration, like rick rack, glitter or stickers can be used anywhere on the bookmark.

After you have glued on the material, then use a hole punch, if you want to add a ribbon or a tassel on the top or bottom.
I would recommend a regular round punch, no larger than ¼ inch.

Let the glue completely dry, and then it is ready to use or give as a gift.

I am going to try and make a ducky one for the contest at my daughter’s work.

This day is so far...

So far it is a so-so day.

I woke up about 5 in bad pain and had to get up.

So I did, started the coffee and got a cup. I did the daily scripture for the day and am sitting here now waiting for the pain to subside enough for me to be able to bend over and get some work done.

These past few days I have been my usual busy self. Yesterday I got to spend time with my daughter, which is not to often because of our schedules and illnesses. We went to meet someone that wants to learn knitting and got stood up, but it was OK because I found a couple good items I could use on clearance and found something else I could use, while we were at the store waiting for her.

I started two winter scarves, and finished one. That is from my pattern I designed. I have to put the finishing touches on the written pattern then I may post it as a freebie or sell it for a couple bucks. I do not know yet. It is an easy, quick to work up pattern.

For the crocheters that like the old pattern books. I found this site and it is wonderful for getting the old books on PDF.

I looked to buy some of these on Ebay and some sellers had a few for reasonable prices. Some, of course, thought that they could get more than they are worth, and some make copies and sell those.

I was pretty much disgusted about that situation, so I did some searching, mainly to buy some older books, and I found this site. I have downloaded a few books from the 1800's. And some from the early 1900's.

Some of the books on housekeeping have advice that is still great advice today. And praise the woman of the house, because we do so much to make the household run smoothly.

I have not finished my search for the actual copies of these old books, but now I can use the PDf's for the patterns I want to try and make. The directions are somewhat different than the directions of today, that can be overcome easily enough. Sometimes it takes knowing what comes next most of the time and sometimes it takes looking at the items photo and then it could take looking up the term online and seeing if there is a modern day comparison.

HELLO AGAIN

Like usual it was a busy fall.

Mostly I was busy being very ill.

Right up to the day before I was to leave for the International Convention, I was real ill.

I prayed and prayed about it, and frankly asked Jehovah to help me handle my feelings if I could not make it.
I did get to the doctor and get it all taken care of and the day before I left all fell into place.

I had help packing and getting the house ready, which I am very, very grateful for.

Thank you Jehovah, my sister, my nieces, my daughter and my husband. With all of their help I was packed and ready to go Sunday morning. And the only thing I forgot was some chap lip, what we call lip balm. So I bought one, for over $4.00 at the airport and you better believe at that price, I have not lost it.

I will wait for another day to post about the convention. I have not had the chance to upload the photos and determine if I will print them or have a store print them.

I will state that I am still wiped out, even though I have been home for two weeks. It was worth it though. As you will be able to see when I post about the entire two week trip.

There is a postcard show coming up in Golden this month that I want to try and go to. I am hoping that I can make it the first, or both days. I want to learn a lot and buy some there. It would be nice to learn how to clean post cards, and sell them for a profit.

I have so many that I would be willing to sell, at a profit, and I need to learn how to do that fairly so neither I or the buyer will get gypped.

I keep a lot of my postcards also. I am going to do a lot of different things with the ones I keep. Of course there will be those in the protective boxes and albums, and I want to have some on the walls here. I just have nto decided how I will put most of them up yet.

I would like fawns, baby deers, for those that don't know the English term, for my living room. And if you know me well enough to have my email, and can get me some fawns from your area, please email me about the cost and I will see if I can purchase them.

For some reason I am having a problem getting that site to organize my cards and photos in the order I want them to.

It is the Colorado postcards I have for swapping.

Of course I have been doing some crocheting. I have sold a few items and now I am working on a new design of my own. I have some more items to make that I need to sell this month and get some learning about a new craft done also.
And get the photos of the convention trip in an album and scrapbook that.

I have a tight schedule for all I need to get done. From the fun stuff to the serious things. Studying is always the first thing in the day that is on my list. So that I can make sure the import things are done, and then service and of course the meetings.

The postcard show is on a Friday and Saturday, so I will get to attend that. Because I would not miss a meeting for that.

Well today is the first Sunday of the year 2010. Our meeting time changed to the afternoon and we use the new songbook today.

I need to get ready for that now. And drink another cup of coffee.

Summer is going away too fast if you ask me.

Well snow is on the forecast for some of the areas around us.

The wind is blowing and it is cold.

But that is a good sign to hang clothes out on the line.

It has been a busy summer.

The District Convention was of course awesome, and what I needed.

I plan to review the notes sometime in the next two weeks for my personal study time.

I think we are going to plan a day to go up and see the aspens color change again this year.

I just do not know where we will be going.

I would like to go in the way of Deckers or another area there, but that ares is the Hayman fire area. That was a few years ago , but not all has grown back yet.

When we pulled up we saw a doe and twin fawns eating in the park where the water is. I only had my cell phone, so the photos won't be all that great. I may get to figuring out how to upload from the phone to the computer, so I can sign them and then find a way to share them.

Of course right now is not the time, because work is waiting for me.

There was another subject I want to start posting about. I am not going to start that in this post. Perhaps tomorrow, or whenever I can blog again

A Good Morning It Is!

Those first two cups of coffee are so delicious.

A shower/bath is something that cannot ever be replaced. It is so refreshing.

I think we take those for granted, at least I do.

I just renewed my library items.

I have a lot I finished with, but there is a lot I haven't finished using.

Like the Spanish CDs, Colorado history books, postcard books and some knitting books.

I found a place that shows how to convert knitting to crochet, so I want to try that with at least one of the knitting lace patterns.

Hmmm, now that I think about it, I did not see that document this morning, when I was sorting baby patterns.

Oh well, if I lost it, I have it printed, I think.

I am going to add an image today, but not one of my own.

I made too many mistakes and this is the correction of them.

I am going to bold the corrections.

Things are changing a lot around the Blog scene.

It took an hour or longer for me to sign in, mainly because it seemed that my blog disappeared.

Oh my, EEEEEEEKS!

I have been busy, like usual.

My sweet husband, has had double pneumonia, and I have had to carry a lot of his load, as well as my own and I just cannot get ahead. That does not include the hours going to and from the doctors. One is anywhere from 30 - 45 minutes one way.

I feel like I am on a time squeeze for a lot of things, that need to get done. The convention is next weekend. I have yard work and house work I would like to get done before the convention.

I guess the yard will have to wait, but the house cannot wait.

We can drive back and forth, so there will be no major packing, at this point. If Don cannot go, I may have to get a hotel, if it is to late to get a ride from someone else.

I cannot drive on my pain meds, if I have to drive, I will not be able to take any of them all day, until I get home. So I am worried about that. Since it is so close to the convention, many people have all the plans made and full cars by now. And I doubt there will be a hotel room in the city we have the convention, because most of the hotels are here in my city. LOL

I will ask tomorrow at the meeting. Then I am going to take a break and get out in service even more tomorrow. Service is a break from so much, and with the invitations work it is a very pleasant time. I get out more often than I have this week, it just has been a crazy week.

It is a busy time for us that is for sure. Besides service, house work and yard work I have been busy getting gifts ready. One is a yard sale swap and I got that sent out today, just on the wire day for last day to be sent.

I still have another baby bootie to crochet and a hat to make for an online shower.

But I already had told everyone that I may not be part of the shower.

I have been so busy that I could not get to my Watchtower to study this week.

It is nearly 10:30 p.m. and it still needs done.

I feel horrible, because that is my favorite thing to study and this week it seems like it is a huge project.

And of course this is the week with a lot of scriptures to think about and meditate on, so my mind will be busy till midnight or later. Like I said , it is my favorite, so I will enjoy studying it, it is just getting started.

I also have to take care of some business online tonight before I go to bed. And not to be rude, but I stink, so I need a shower really, really bad.

The humidity has been like Oklahoma's lately, not the dry Colorado we love.

So the stink is a daily thing, until we get these storms out of the area.

And the storms are not the friendly rain storms, no, they are full of wind, tornadoes and hail and just about all kinds of stuff we as humans, don't like.

My plants have been dug up lately also.

I covered the compost so the animals won't get into it, but they are destroying my plants, so I am going to let them have at the compost.

I am going to stop Blogging and study...

Two hours later. I did it! I studied the entire lesson, and looked up all of the scriptures!

This is no big deal, millions of others have done the same thing. I am just happy I can go to bed after my shower now. And think about the lesson and how I should appreciate Jesus' role, more than I do now.

I am not going to add any photos today, well tonight, well now it is Sunday about 12:45, so it is another day.

It is too late to bother with photos.

In fact when I first tried to post tonight it was way earlier and I had something to state about crochet patterns.

That will have to be posted another day.

This is all I can write tonight, I just have so much more to do before I go to bed.

I don't like staying up this late, but such is life.

Oh man, oh man, I forgot to water the lawn.

I have to do that tonight, at least part of it.

I will do that now, then get the shower, then the Internet business then turn off the hose and go to bed!

Night, night all.

Now I know there is one more mistake, but I cannot find it. Who cares the shower and bed are calling me.

Things are changing a lot around the Blog scene.

It took an hour or longer for me to sign in, mainly because it seemed that my blog disappeared.

Oh my, EEEEEEEKS!

So I have been busy, like usual.

My sweet husband has had double pneumonia and I have had to carry a lot of his load, as well as my own and I just cannot get ahead. And that does not include the hours going to and from the doctors. One is anywhere from 30 - 45 minutes one way.

And I feel like I am on a time squeeze for a lot of things to get done. The convention is next weekend. I have yard work and house work I would like to get done before the convention.

I guess the yard will have to wait, but the house cannot wait.

We can drive back and forth, so there will be no major packing, at this point. If Don cannot go, I may have to get a hotel, if it is to late to get a ride from someone else.

I cannot drive on my pain meds, and if I have to drive, I will not be able to take any of them all day, until I get home. So I am worried about that. And since it is so close to the convention, many people have all the plans and full cars by now. And I doubt there will be a hotel room in the city we have the convention, because most of the hotels are here in my city. LOL

I will ask tomorrow at the meeting. Then I am going to take a break and get out ion service even more tomorrow. Service is a break form so much, and with the invitations work it is a very pleasant time.

It is a busy time for us that is for sure. Besides service, house work and yard work I have been busy getting gifts ready. One is a yard sale swap and I got that sent out today, just on the wire day for last day to send.

I still have another baby bootie to crochet and a hat to make for an on line shower.

But I already had told everyone that I may not be part of the shower.

I have been so busy that I could not get to my Watchtower to study this week.

It is nearly 10:30 pm and it still needs done.

I feel horrible, because that is my favorite thing to study and this week it seems like it is a huge project.

And of course this is the week with a lot of scriptures to think about and meditate on, so my mind will be busy till midnight or later. L
I also have to take care of some business on line tonight before I go to bed. And not to be rude, but I stink, so I need a shower really, really bad.

The humidity has been like Oklahoma's lately, not the dry Colorado we love.

So the stink is a daily thing, until we get these storms out of the area.

And the storms are not the friendly rain storms, no they are full of wind, tornadoes and hail and just about all kinds of stuff we as humans don't like.

Ny plants have been dug up lately also.

I covered the compost so the animals won't get into it, but they are destroying my plants, so I am going to let them have at the compost.

I am going to stop Blogging and study...

Two hours later. I did it! I studied the entire lesson, and looked up all of the scriptures!

This is no big deal, millions of others have done the same thing. I am just happy I can go to bed after my shower now. And think about the lesson and how I should appreciate Jesus role more than I do now.

I am not going to add any photos today, well tonight, well now it is Sunday about 12:45, so it is another day.

It is too late to bother with photos.

In fact when I first tried to post tonight it was way earlier and I had something to state about crochet patterns.

That will have to be posted another day.

This is all I can write tonight, I just have so much more to do before I go to bed.

I don't like staying up this late, but such is life.

Oh man, oh man, I forgot to water the lawn.

I have to do that tonight, at least part of it.

I will do that now, then get the shower, then the Internet business then turn off the hose and go to bed!

Night, night all.

Grrr, and then I could not post the blog, it is still messing up.

Oh thank my brain for thinking of copying and pasting to word before clicking publish!

A Spring Post

I have been doing not so good for the

past few months.

a lot has been due
to the lung cancer.

That is the non self inflicted lung cancer.

I had no choice, it was not caused

by me or anyone near me smoking.

If you read this and smoke, please quit, if you get cancer, it will be the people you love that hurts and
that will take care of you.

If you really want to put that load on your children,
then I don't think anything,
anyone says,would help to encourage

you to stop smoking.

Well that is enough for the "lecture."

Of course, I did not put the camera down
during this time.

I have some lovely photos from my yard, and some from the mountains after the trees turned last fall. These four, up to this point, are just a few out of the many I took.

Since I have been invited to be a guest at an International Convention, I chose to use some of my photos as gifts for the others that will be attending the convention.

Of course I cannot make 100,000 gifts, nor travel with that many, so I have to call a halt at a certain number.

Being the convention is in Mexico City, I am taking things, the people there can use, but cannot afford to purchase.

Those are things I have been picking up here and there for the past few months.

Hair things for the females and ties for the males.

And then the gifts with the photos. Right now they are a load of postcards.

If I remember how to load the photos here, I will load the final copy, so you all can see what I have to share with the other delegates.

You all, if you know someone that is going to the same convention, could you contact me please.

Those that know me enough to know someone that is attending will already know how to contact me.

If I get someone that posts in the comments part, I will be asking questions, that cannot be fudged by someone not attending.

My crochet hooks have not been resting either, in fact, this afternoon, I have to work on a gift, that needs sent out in the next few days, so that needs done by Friday at the latest.

I have always turned my nose up at making doilies, I love seeing them and having them in my home.

I always thought what a waste, they are just dust catchers.

Well a group of sellers on Ebay taught me the joys of making and having the nicer of the doilies.

Now I not only crochet them, I have them all over the house.

Some aare my granny's and my great grandmothers.

Some are those that others have made, and I have one or two of mine.

Please, please, do not buy doilies from the dollar store or Walmart or stores like those.

There is no machine crocheting, like knitting.

If a dollar store sells a doily for a dollar and it take someone five to seven hours to make that doily, how much are the losers that are selling them to the dollar store paying that crocheter?
It makes me sick to think some woman is paid pennies for that much work.

If you want a doily, hire someone that you know, or go to a yarn store and ask there, for someone. But please, please, do what you can to stop that abuse.

It makes me sicker to think that a child may be the one making them.

I have a suggestion, the dollar stores and other stores buy, on the bases of what is sold. So if no doilies are sold, they won't come up to be bought. Hide the doilies when you see them.

Hide them where they cannot be seen for months.

I know how long it takes a good crocheter to make one doily, so that is why I am mentioning this.

Ok I promised so copies of the postcards I am making for the delegates of the convention.

This is starting to underline everything I am writing.

for some reason. I can say I had fun making these and then using a coupon from Walgreens.

The coupon was 50 prints for $5.00.
So I made several and had to correct some of them. Just to waste another coupon!

And others are going where I put them with no problem.

These are small, I may make some bigger tomorrow, with not much writing.
I am getting a headache and getting frustrated, because there is so much going wrong.

Ok there is not much cooperation with those silly things, so I will try and post them, in a bigger manner also, another day.

It is not worth the headache and not worth the frustration.

I also need to get crocheting while my show is on.

August the Month it Rained

The rains fell a lot here in August, The lawns and flowers did so well because of the rains.

The garden is doing great!

I so love the first grilled cheese and homegrown tomato sandwich of the summer.

I ate that slow, slow, slow, so I could savor every bite.

Summer is going so fast. The grandchildren and the younger nieces and one of my nephews are all back in school.

This summer break flew by fast.

It has been a busy summer.

This was a very pleasant place to take a good stroll or a good hard walk workout.

The yard is finally taking on a pretty look. I have been working hard getting the hill to look decent.

I finally gave up on grass growing there. The hill and the neighbors pine tree make grass an impossibility.

The neighbor that the pine tree belongs to, has put in a small wall on her side, and it looks so much better. (She is a fairly new neighbor and very nice) I have to get into that back strip, next year and do something with that.

Maybe some bushy type of flowers and some perennials would work.

I have put bark under the pine tree, and the hill and have added flower plants here and there. I have more flowers to add, thinning out the marigolds in the back and taking them to the front will help.

A friend is going to give me some cuttings from her Russian Sage. I am hoping that will be a good and fast spreader and I can have those making that area of the yard looking good.

Sweet, loving Don has done a lot of the digging and hauling.

Beside yard work, I have been making gifts from my beads and crocheting other things.

Now it time to sell things. The International Conventions may seem a long ways away, but time flies faster than we want it to sometime. ♪ ♪

I have to sell things I make, and other things, to help pay for the privilege of being able to attend the International Convention, and the entire trips expense.

I like making small items, so I can work for the money and enjoy some of the work.

Some of the things I make are harder than others, but I like the challenge and it keeps me on my toes.

I make small items and will sell those.

Right now, besides yarn, I have retro dress hot pads and a kitchen set for sale on Etsy.

I have two purses that are not listed, that are ready to sell. (See photos if you are interested)This first one is a bit blurry, it is the flower and loop for closing the purse.

The first one is a child's purse. This is a darling heart shaped purse.

It is crocheted with worsted weight rose/burgundy yarn. And has a white handle that is also acrylic yarn, but it has a slight fizzy texture. The closure is a flower and a loop.

The second purse is a faux suede purse.
There is one main compartment. The out side is embellished with a forest theme.
It has pink beads to accent the flowering trees, and the leaves, branches and trunks are embroidered.
This purse is 100% polyester.

I will be making bookmarks also.

The bookmarks are one of a kind and will be made differently, depending on my mood, or the texture I want to work with, or what someone asks for.

I can make corded, card stock, and crocheted, all with beads and/or tassels bookmarks.

The collage has some of what I have made.

We can email and get a design up together if you want to.

The corded ones are easier to make the same.

One Glorious Month into a Warm and Happy Summer

It has been a terrific summer. The garden is producing tomatoes and herbs, the flowers are starting to come out. We had a proliferation of roses, they looked impressive!

My clematis was doing fantastic. I am trying to harvest the seeds off of those, and that is a hard job. I am still getting the stragglers blooming. The baskets are holding their own; I have to work on those once a week. As the old blooms die, I take them off and harvest what seeds I can harvest.

My first morning glory bloomed today.
I wanted a photo if it, but I needed to take my fellow Mother –in-law to the doctors. So she and I made a day of it, until after lunch.

She went with her husband and I went to the library.

I checked out too many books, a few I have gone thorough some already, and know what I am able use out of them.

About a week and a half ago some new neighbors decided to move in.

They built their place in one day and were dangerous, so we wanted them out of here.

The photo above is of their said home.

DH sprayed it two times, and got the queen at least, there were a few that flew away.

I picked up the nest after it fell and looked at it.

Seven layers, all in one day. I think that is absolutely incredible!

I wanted to keep it and look at it more, but DH went out when I was gone and destroyed it.

But that nest urged me to be determined to make this:

We need the decoy for up here on the deck. Down in the far yonder part, by the back fence a nest would be no problem.

So a summer full of joys and stresses, but all are doing what the creator put in them to instinctively do.

Next summer, I may be going to an International Convention.

To get there, I need to earn my way. So I am selling things. And pinching pennies.

Many will be hand crocheted items, some hand crafted, some will just have added embellishments made by me and some commercially produced items.

The commercially produced items will mainly be crochet and knit books, yarns, and piano music and a few other items.

I am starting to sell items. Some will be hand crocheted and some handmade and some embellished by me, and some commercially produced and I do not need anymore.

I did get all of my yarn books sorted, or at least I think it is all of them.

I found out I have a few books that I have double copies of so some of those must go up for sale. I have offered them locally first, so if you are local and got the email and are interested, go ahead and contact me.

A Great Time

This is a photo I took last fall. We went on a nice afternoon drive to see the aspens. This was taken on the Cripple Creek hi-way.

The Family Reunion was fantastic.

We had fun and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Laughter, hugs and love reigned over the entire weekend.

I found out one cousin is a professional photographer. His work is one of a kind. He takes photos in a manner that looses the one flat dimension. Most postcards, as beautiful as they are, are in a one dimension mode.

As soon as I get information, I will be posting more information about his photos.

I can say, and say it with pride, his photos puts my flowers and other photos to shame.

I do not mind, he has an eye for the right light and the correct angle.

I just get excited and click away.

I am still trying to get my store off the ground. Right now, I have only yarn listed. But soon, I hope to have hand crafted items for sale.

Smiling and Packing

Tomorrow, well it is later today now, because it is now after midnight.
We get to go to our family reunion.
Mainly it is a celebration of and aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary.
I am excited.

This has been an emotional day, for different reasons, so some things had to be put off until the last moments.

I haven't even started packing the suitcase. But most of what I am packing is sorted and ready to pack.

I have gifts ready to put in a box and crochet projects in their respective bags, the crochet hooks and scissors and other accessories are ready to get loaded in the car.

I have to charge some more batteries for the camera, so I can take hundreds of photos. If I see a flower and am able to, I more than likely will take a photo of that. Well let me say a flower that is growing outdoors. Unless it is an awesome one growing indoors or a cut flower that is worthy to take a photo of.

It has been a busy two weeks.

I have had other family visit me a few days. I started making my plarn that I am going to loom knit into a bath mat.

Plarn you ask? It is plastic bags recycled into a ball of plastic string, to make things with. Nap mats, purses and grocery totes are popular things to make out of plarn.

The part of the bag I do not use for plarn will go to the plastic bag recycle bin at the stores.

I have finished up the bath sets I am making for my aunts. I have one and a half of remote cozies to make my uncles, left to do.

Remote cozies you ask? Yes, for that is all I could think of that is fast and easy enough for my skills for them. Now I just have to make up a goofy poem to let the uncles know what they are and why I picked the cozies to make.

We have almost finished the front yard. It needed some landscaping terribly bad. The back yard has about two more days work, but that has to wait a couple weeks.

My photos today, is one that I took after it rained one day, and then I went into my Photo Shop program and cut out all the background. (That took a lot of work, but it was basically easy) There is a before and after.

I have some brand new blooms on the rose bush I noticed today. I may run out and get a photo after I post this.
